Mission: Adelphous Station

Mitsu stepped through the doors onto the bridge of the Eclipse and smiled at the sight. While smaller than the Intrepid class star-ships, the bridge of the Eclipse had a similar layout. It was sensible and operational, reflecting the purpose of a multi-mission capable star-ship, which was the purpose of the Eclipse and her upgraded and improve design. Sitting down in the captain's chair, Mitsu nodded towards her first officer. "Commander, let's get underway please," she said.

Karl nodded and leaned forward in his seat. "All hands to departures stations. Helm, stand by thrusters. Ops, seal boarding airlock and prepare to release from docking," he said.

Sitting at the helm, Vesper nodded to herself as her hands flew over the controls of her console. "Thrusters are on full standby. Impulse and warp drive online and ready for your command," she reported.

Jaina stood at her station and checked her readouts. "Commander, security reports that the airlock is secured and cleared," she reported. "Tactical systems are online and standing by."

Eva stood beside the bridge science station, mostly to keep an eye on the ensign she had assigned to the bridge during the launch. She had wanted for more time to allow the newly minted officers to adjust, but there was no more time. They would simply have to learn how to settle in underway. It was, in a manner of speaking, perhaps a better way for young officers to adjust to the differences between learning in the classroom at the Academy and the real world experience. As she glanced at the readouts on the science station monitors, Eva nodded before she turned to report. "All science systems are online and operating within parameters," she said.

Sitting at the master control station in engineering, Alicia watched her readouts with caution. She nodded to herself as everything actually looked good. For once, she dared to hope that the ship systems were operating normally and without problem. She signaled to the bridge ops officer that engineering systems were good to go.

leaning forward in his seat, Kev checked every reading that scrolled across his screens. he noticed the report from engineering and tapped a reply to confirm the report before he turned to his tasks. one command sealed the boarding airlock hatch and released the docking moors. "airlock sealed, moorings released and retracted. all systems are go for launch," he reported.

With the ship preparing to launch, Matt didn't seem to have much to do, so he strolled down the corridor. He figured that he might as well start security patrols.

Erin had been a little intimidated when she had found out that she would be sitting on the bridge for a shift rotation. It was made worse when she heard that they would be departing during that shift as well, which was why she was eternally grateful for the chief science officer to be standing present and guiding her through the process. She sat at the science station, focused on the console and the readouts, all of which looked normal. She was hoping that she didn't look as nervous as she felt, but she was certain that it was still showing.

T'Mara calmly sat in the chief medical officer's office and finished reading through the night shift duty officer's report. Filing the report, she glanced up to see what the lead officer was doing and raised an eyebrow as she caught the lieutenant with a nervous look on her face. Standing, she clasped her hands behind her back as she entered the main sickbay area. "Lieutenant Voss, perhaps you should check on the emergency medical kits and make sure their inventory is up to date," she said.

Ariel blinked and thankfully didn't jump at the sound of the chief medical officer's voice. Turning, she nodded. "I'm sorry, Ma'am, I was just a little distracted. It's my first deployment on a star ship," she said.

"That is understandable, however we have duties to attend to. Now, even more than ever. A star ship that is underway must function, and the crew must see to their duties in order for us all to complete our mission," T'Mara said. "I will inform the bridge that we are functioning normally."

"Yes, Commander," Ariel said as she moved to start checking the emergency kits.

Eric glanced up at the announcement for departure. He had been assigned to take inventory on the ship's probe supply, which he had been informed included a full inventory of not only the probes but the onboard systems as well. And since some of the probes were reconfigurable, that meant he would be busy for a long time. So he figured he could ignore the special prep, since he was already on assignment. Turning back to his task, he sighed and thought about the attractive engineering officer. Maybe, he thought, he could run into her in the lounge during lunch.

Karl checked the various reports and nodded. "Captain, all departments report in. Systems check out, all crew accounted for. We're ready for departure," he said.

"Very well," Mitsu said with a nod. "Helm, take us out."

Vesper nodded and activated the thrusters. She had already double checked and made sure the airlock was sealed and the docking moorings were released. She guided the Eclipse backwards out of the docking slip, easing the small, sleek ship out into the freedom of space. Once free of the docking yard station, the Eclipse banked in reverse and turned, pausing slightly as Vesper reverse the thrusters and started the ship on a forward course while rolling the ship to port and turning towards the open vastness of outer space. Smiling at the corner of her mouth, she reported. "We're free of the station. Switching from thrusters to impulse control. Standing by for warp," she said.

"Set course for the Adelphous System, warp 9," Karl ordered.

"Course and speed set," Vesper reported after a few moments. "We're in position, ready for warp."

"Engage," Mitsu said, her voice calm despite the fact that she was anything but.

The Eclipse paused for just the smallest fraction of time before her warp nacelles flashed the the ship jumped to warp speed.
